This handwoven Sarakhs rug—from a region less known for all-silk pieces yet, with this work, placing its name alongside the distinguished centers of silk carpet weaving in Iran—measures 88 × 117 cm (2'11" × 3'10") and has an area of 1.03 m² (11.09 ft²). It belongs to the most finely woven category, with a knot density of ≈ 16,500 knots/dm², reflecting remarkable precision and delicacy. Featuring a medallion design with geometric motifs, it is a meeting point of geometry and art, where measured, orderly lines blend with the softness of silk and an intelligent palette. The central medallion gleams like a radiant sun upon a golden ground; paired with a madder-red border, the composition achieves a majestic, captivating contrast. Animal and tree motifs also appear across the field.
