This all-silk handwoven rug from Qom, in an all-over design with bird motifs, measures 98 × 145 cm (3'3" × 4'9") with an area of 1.43 m² (15.39 ft²). The composition evokes the flight of imagination and freedom of spirit: at the top of the blue field, two beautiful, symmetrical peacocks sit with tails spread. The center and surrounding areas are filled with cages containing various birds such as parrots and nightingales. Weaving density: 10,000 knots/dm². A deep navy border, with its distinctive chromatic depth, frames the scene and creates a measured contrast with the blue ground. The all-silk construction lends a gentle sheen and refined softness—made for admiration rather than foot traffic.
