This all-silk handwoven Qom rug under the “Mohammad Movarrej” brand, in a medallion-and-corner design, measures 120 × 80 cm (3'11" × 2'7") and has an area of approximately 1 m² (10.76 ft²). Woven at a fineness of 10,000 knots/dm², it immediately signals a distinctive work. Delicate flowers, leaves, and curvilinear forms are orderly arranged within the central medallion and the corner spandrels. The boldly chosen black field and border—rare among traditional rugs—lend a special gravitas; together with silk’s natural sheen, they create a striking yet pleasing contrast.
