This all-silk handwoven rug from Tabriz, in a medallion-and-corner design, measures 335 × 500 cm (11'0" × 16'5") with an area of 16.75 m² (180.30 ft²), reflecting the splendor of Iran’s history. Within the central medallion, a depiction of Persepolis appears, while angelic figures are placed on the four sides of the medallion across the field. The deep navy border frames this visual narrative like a painting. A palette that is bold yet dignified revives a historical and mythical image in the viewer’s mind. With a weaving density of approximately 5,100 knots/dm², the pictorial elements and details are rendered effectively. The all-silk construction, with its gentle, pleasing lustre, creates a soft surface.
