This all-silk handwoven rug, measuring 101 × 151 cm (3'4" × 4'11") with an area of 1.53 m² (16.47 ft²), is woven under the Kafashzadeh brand with a fineness of approximately 11,400 knots/dm², reflecting the utmost precision and mastery of its artisan. Inspired by traditional forms yet arranged in a modern composition, it presents a renewed expression of contemporary Iranian weaving art. At the center lies a medallion design, while around it gracefully dance boteh (paisley) motifs—symbols of life and fertility—rendered in a harmonious palette upon a distinctive olive-green field. This unique background, rarely encountered, imparts a warm and distinguished grandeur to the piece. Multicolored borders adorned with diverse motifs bring artistic coherence between tradition and modernity. The thoughtful choice of colors and the arrangement of motifs provide a visual statement of transformation and vitality in today’s Iranian artistry.
