Handwoven Carpet, Medallion Layout, Wool and Silk on Cotton Warp, Kashmar, 300 × 400 cm Ref 11200137
This handwoven Kashmar rug, in a medallion design with “Zir Khaki” (subterranean-inspired) motifs, measures 300 × 400 cm (9'10" × 13'1") with an area of 12 m² (129.17 ft²), bringing a majestic and balanced presence to any space. The central medallion, like a precious gem, rests within a cream-colored field softened by a gentle aura, surrounded by ancient motifs that narrate hidden treasures of history. These patterns, designed in the Zir Khaki style, evoke the impression of rugs that seem to have laid part of their identity in the soil of time and now reemerge to recount a silent story. A strong cotton warp and a weaving density of approximately 3,300 knots/dm² ensure durability and meticulous precision in craftsmanship. The use of silk highlights within the weave lends the petals and main outlines a luminous and elevated quality, shimmering with vitality under the light. The blue border, serene and dignified, frames the composition like a painting set between nature and history.
