This handwoven Sirjan kilim-rug, measuring 135 × 197 cm (4'5" × 6'6") with an area of 2.66 m² (28.63 ft²), features a moharramat (striped) design. Woven all-wool at an approximate density of 3,200 knots/dm², it presents one of the most time-honored and distinctive approaches in Iranian weaving: parallel, alternating bands that carry geometric motifs with refined proportion and balance. In this piece, the vertical stripes are set with finesse beside one another; the multi-hued field generates visual vitality and movement, while the cream border introduces a calm, measured frame that tempers the rhythm. The use of natural wool contributes softness, durability, and a pleasing warmth to the textile.
