This handwoven Sirjan kilim rug measures 106 × 160 cm (3'6" × 5'3") and has an area of 1.7 m² (18.30 ft²). Woven from natural all-wool with a cohesive structure, it achieves a weaving density of approximately 2,500 knots/dm². The kheshti (compartment) layout—one of the celebrated patterns in Iranian carpet art—forms the rug’s main structure. Each compartment, set in orderly, balanced frames, carries motifs drawn from nature, local culture, and the artisan’s creative mind. The measured, architectural repetition of the panels imparts a sense of order, coherence, and calm to the surrounding space. Lac-red, used for both the field and the border, lends the piece authentic, warm grandeur. As a traditional Persian hue, it integrates naturally into classic interiors and, through its striking contrast, becomes a compelling focal point in modern arrangements as well.
