This handwoven Sirjan kilim rug, measuring 153 × 205 cm (5'0" × 6'9") with an area of 3.14 m² (33.80 ft²), is woven in a khesti (panel) design. It is an uncommon blend of beauty, geometric order, and precise craftsmanship. The weaving density is 1,800 knots/dm², and the construction is all-wool. The khesti layout, like a grid of decorative panels, presents each compartment filled with geometric motifs derived from traditional patterns—forms that, despite their simplicity, carry meaning and order and faithfully reflect the visual culture of Iran’s desert regions. The madder-red field lends warmth and grandeur, while the beige border creates a pleasing, balanced composition. The use of natural wool provides softness, resilience, and a pleasant warmth. This kilim rug can be placed in traditional interiors or contemporary eclectic settings, bringing an authentic Eastern character to the space.
