This handwoven Sirjan kilim rug, measuring 83 × 125 cm (2'9" × 4'1") with an area of 1.04 m² (11.19 ft²), is woven in a khesti (panel) design. Produced in an all-wool construction, its weaving density is approximately 3,200 knots/dm². In this kilim, the khesti layout—drawn from traditional architecture and an Eastern worldview—assumes a frame-like structure whose geometric repetition arises from a deep understanding of order, balance, and beauty in the weaver’s artistic vision. Both the field and the border are rendered in madder red, turning the surface into a warm, authentic scene—a red that carries the vigor of life, a sense of intimacy, and cultural depth.
