This antique handwoven rug from Tabriz, in an authentic medallion-and-corner design, is an eye-catching piece born of the artistic sensibility of the people of Azerbaijan. Produced by the “Heidarzadeh” brand, it measures 325 × 520 cm (10'8" × 17'1") with an area of 16.9 m² (181.91 ft²), making it ideal for distinguished, grand spaces. The weaving density is approximately 3,300 knots/dm², revealing details with clarity and precision. The medallion-and-corner layout, with its symmetrical composition and precise geometry, presents a classical expression of Iranian beauty. The central medallion shines like a living sun upon a brilliant madder-red field, while the corner motifs embrace the four corners of the rug. Animal motifs interspersed within the composition add a sense of vitality, life, and narrative. A madder-red ground with warm, aristocratic radiance, paired with a deep, dignified navy border, creates a striking balance of vigor and stillness. A soft wool pile and a strong cotton warp together provide pleasing softness and enduring durability.
