This antique handwoven rug features an all-over design with a pictorial depiction of "Ahmad Shah Qajar", the last king of the Qajar era, with poetic verses woven into the border in praise of the monarch. It is a creation from the heart of traditional workshops, crafted under the hand of the artisan “Karkhaneh Hosseinali Farshchi". At first glance, the striking interplay of warm and cool tones across the field—enclosed by an authentic dark navy border—invites the viewer on a visual journey. This all-over composition is not merely a pictorial arrangement; it resembles a miniature infused with mythological elements and cultural symbols whose cohesive layout conveys a sense of symmetry and narrative flow. This rectangular rug measures 133 × 203 cm (4'4" × 6'8") with an area of 2.7 m² (29.06 ft²). It is woven with fine wool pile on a cotton warp, with an approximate density of 5,100 knots/dm². The piece stands at the convergence of tradition and technical precision in Persian carpet weaving. Relief accents in certain sections of the border add a tangible, lively dimension and attest to the weaver's skill in uniting technique with artistry.
