This Qom handwoven rug, measuring 98 × 152 cm (3'3" × 5'0") with an area of 1.49 m² (16.04 ft²), has been created by the skilled hands of artisans with a weaving density of about 7,300 knots/dm². Produced under the Lajvardi brand, it features the traditional kheshti (compartment) design, in which motifs are arranged in regular, geometric panels placed side by side. These panels, called “khesht,” each contain diverse designs and motifs. In this all-silk rug, an orderly composition of floral and colorful panels is on display. Each khesht, like a window opening into a blossoming garden, with its unique combination of color and design, narrates an independent world of beauty. The multicolored field, enriched with a delightful variety of warm and cool tones, imparts vibrancy and liveliness to the rug, while in artistic contrast with the turquoise border, creates striking visual balance. The turquoise border, reminiscent of the sky and traditional Persian turquoise tiles, brings serenity and refreshing coolness to the piece. The all-silk weave, beyond its distinctive sheen and delicacy, grants the rug remarkable softness and flexibility, so that under the play of light, its forms and colors come alive.
