This antique handwoven rug from Varamin, in a medallion design, measures 303 × 405 cm (9'11" × 13'3") with an area of 12.28 m² (132.18 ft²). Around the central medallion, paired cypress trees appear in symmetry—symbols of endurance and steadfastness—while Shah-Abbasi and Khatai motifs fill the field, suggesting natural order and blossoming. The weaving density is approximately 3,300 knots/dm², achieved with a high-quality wool pile on a natural-fiber warp for lasting strength. Madder red, used across both field and borders, creates artistic unity and a warm presence. The finely executed floral motifs arranged around the medallion add a pleasing balance and a calm, graceful rhythm to the composition.
