150 x 200 cm Hand-Knotted Carpets

A genuinely useful size and often underrated. At 1.5 by 2 metres, these work as the main rug in a smaller apartment living room, under a bed, in a study, or as a layered piece on top of a larger plain carpet.

Where it fits

Bedroom: placed across the lower two thirds of a king bed, so you step onto wool on both sides without the rug disappearing under the headboard. Study or home office: takes a desk and chair comfortably with the castors staying on the rug. Apartment living room: works in rooms up to roughly 3.5 x 4 metres, with a two-seat sofa's front legs on the rug.

Why this size suits finer pieces

Cost scales with area, so a 150 x 200 lets you buy at a level of fineness that would be out of reach at 300 x 400. If you want a silk Qom or a genuinely fine Isfahan and the budget is finite, this is the size to look at. Many of our customers buy a fine small piece for a bedroom and a hard-wearing wool carpet for the living room, which is a sensible way to allocate a budget.
