Choosing colour for UAE interiors
Most homes here have pale marble or porcelain floors and a great deal of natural light. That combination flattens weak colour and exposes anything muddy. Two approaches work reliably. Either go tonal — a rug within two shades of your floor, adding texture rather than contrast — or commit properly to a deep anchor colour: charcoal, indigo, rust, forest. The half-measure of a mid-beige rug on a beige floor is what makes a room look unfinished.
Getting the size right
The most common mistake is buying too small. In a living room, the front legs of every seat should sit on the rug. Under a dining table, allow 60 to 70 cm beyond the table edge on all sides so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out. Our 200 x 300 cm and 250 x 350 cm sizes cover most Dubai living rooms; villas usually need 300 x 400 cm or larger.
