Handmade Carpets
Hand-Knotted Persian Carpets in Dubai
Every carpet in this collection was tied by hand, knot by knot, on a loom in Iran. There is no machine involved at any stage. Depending on its fineness, a single piece here represents anywhere from four months to four years of one weaver's life.
Our collection spans the great Persian weaving centres. Tabriz is known for precise, architectural medallion designs and exceptional durability. Qom produces the finest silk work in Iran, with knot counts that can exceed a million per square metre. Kashan weaves the classic lachak-toranj layout in deep madder reds and indigo. Kerman favours softer palettes and open, flowing floral fields. Nain is recognised by its ivory grounds and delicate blue arabesques.
How to judge quality
Turn the carpet over. On a genuine hand-knotted piece the design reads as clearly on the back as on the front, and the knots are visibly irregular because a human tied them. Higher knot density allows finer detail and generally indicates more valuable work, but density alone is not the whole story: the quality of the wool, whether the dyes are natural, and the confidence of the drawing matter just as much.
Buying in the UAE
Every carpet we sell carries a certificate of authenticity stating its origin, materials, knot density and approximate age. We deliver free across the Emirates, and we encourage you to visit our Al Barsha showroom first — photographs cannot convey how a hand-knotted carpet changes colour as you walk around it.
If you are new to Persian carpets, our team will walk you through sizing for your room, which materials suit UAE homes, and what to expect at each price level. There is no obligation to buy.
