In the city of Qom, the birthplace of delicate silk rugs, a precious and captivating work has been created that embodies the spirit of Iranian art in a small yet splendid form. This all-silk handwoven rug, crafted by the Kazemi brand, features a medallion-and-corner design adorned with floral motifs. It measures 90 × 150 cm (2'11" × 4'11") with an area of 1.35 m² (14.53 ft²), a rug that captivates not only the eye but also the soul. The weaving, executed in silk with a density of about 11,400 knots/dm², reflects the extraordinary mastery of the weaver. The deep navy field provides a majestic and dignified ground for the central medallion and the harmonious corner spandrels. The medallion shines like a jewel in the heart of the rug, while the symmetrical arrangement of the corners imparts a sense of cohesion and visual balance. Floral motifs, inspired by nature and Persian gardens, are gracefully interlaced throughout the field, as though each blossom narrates a delicate story of eternal spring. The uniform navy coloration in both the field and border grants the rug classical depth and dignity. This Qom silk rug is more than a decorative piece; it is a manifestation of taste, history, and refined artistry.
