An all-silk rug from the city of Qom stands as a pictorial narration of myth and nature. This piece, measuring 100 × 143 cm (3'3" × 4'8") with an area of 1.43 m² (15.39 ft²), is woven with a hunting scene design that illustrates within its warp and weft tales of grandeur, human bravery, and the natural world. Created under the “Lajvardi” brand with a knot density of approximately 11,400 knots/dm², it reflects the refined precision of Qom’s weaving masters, inheriting the artistry of several generations. The all-over hunting scene presents vivid depictions of pursuit and chase, horseback riding, archery, and the presence of animals such as gazelles, lions, cheetahs, and birds—set against a gentle cream ground. This warm and inviting background is framed with a deep navy border, adding striking depth and contrast. The overall color composition conveys both dignity and elegance while imbuing the rug with notable visual dynamism.
