An antique handwoven Heris rug, a precious and rare creation that showcases—within its very warp and weft—the artistry of the famed master weavers of the Azerbaijan region. Long renowned for unique rugs with enduring geometric grandeur, Heris here presents an exceptional work in the stately medallion-and-corner design, depicting the splendor and authenticity of Iranian art with remarkable finesse. The geometric medallion-and-corner motifs are interlaced with exemplary delicacy, giving the rug a symmetrical, orderly, and captivating presence—an expression of balance and order that echoes authentic Iranian architecture. The olive-colored field lends a distinctive calm to the setting, and, together with the navy border, creates an artistic yet harmonious contrast. One of this piece's special and unique features is the use of silk "Sof" floral thread—a delicate, distinctly artistic technique that imparts to the motifs a raised, luminous, and unparalleled character. Its exceptionally fine weaving shows a very high density of about 7,300 knots/dm², a testament to its outstanding craftsmanship that renders every motif with uncommon clarity. Woven with silk highlights and soft wool on a sturdy thread warp, this rug offers notable durability, softness, and refinement. Its dimensions are 140 × 210 cm (4'7" × 6'11"), and its area is 2.94 m² (31.65 ft²), making it an ideal choice for enhancing luxurious, classical, and distinctive interiors. This magnificent artwork from Heris is more than an ordinary rug; it is a piece of art that most faithfully carries refined and enduring Iranian artistry at its heart, bringing to any special space an authentic, historical, and singular presence.
