An antique and rare handwoven Seneh rug, representing the pinnacle of splendor and authenticity in the pure art of Kurdistan—a land long renowned for its unparalleled carpets. This artistic masterpiece features an all-over design that envelops the entire field with unmatched beauty and craftsmanship, giving the piece a distinguished and stately presence. In this precious work, the famed boteh (paisley) motif—an emblem of eternity and life in Iranian culture—is repeated with refined delicacy and artistic order across its deep, appealing navy ground. This gentle, regular repetition of boteh motifs resembles a garden of imaginative blossoms, inviting every viewer to wander through a world of dreams and subtleties. A madder-red border creates an attractive, artful contrast that further highlights the finesse of the design. The use of the finest high-grade wool together with a special, exquisite seven-color silk warp makes this rug exceptionally delicate, soft, and lustrous. The seven-color silk warp is a unique feature that, in addition to strength, imparts unparalleled beauty and chromatic brilliance to the piece. Its extraordinarily fine weaving displays a very high density exceeding about 7,400 knots/dm², revealing the artistic finesse and masterly precision of Seneh weavers and rendering every motif with striking clarity. The dimensions are 125 × 200 cm (4'1" × 6'7"), and the area is 2.5 m² (26.91 ft²), making this refined piece highly suitable for adorning luxurious, grand interiors. This antique handwoven Seneh rug is an artwork that beautifully presents Iran’s rich culture and the authenticity and grandeur of Kurdish weaving; its presence in any space reflects the owner’s authenticity, distinctive taste, and deep appreciation of the high art of Iran.
