This antique handwoven rug, featuring an all-over floral design and woven with silk flowers on a silk warp, was created in the workshops of Mashhad artisans under the Amoughli brand. Measuring 150 × 220 cm (4'11" × 7'3") with an area of 3.3 m² (35.52 ft²), it presents a complete manifestation of balance, delicacy, and grandeur. What elevates this piece to a distinguished position among handwoven rugs is its exceptional weaving density of about 20,400 knots/dm²—an undeniable hallmark of astonishing fineness and the exemplary patience of the weaver, who placed each knot with the utmost precision upon the silk foundation. The navy-blue field, resembling a velvety and profound night, serves as a backdrop for the radiance of delicate blossoms, all encompassed by a vibrant madder-red border. The combination of pure silk materials with vivid and majestic motifs transcends the boundaries of daily function, transforming this rug into a realm of authentic artistry and a collectible masterpiece.
