This old handwoven rug with an all-over design and pictorial motifs in the Tabriz weave reflects an artistic vision embedded in pure wool pile with a cotton warp, inspired by the grandeur of Iranian architecture. Its dimensions are 145 × 208 cm (4'9" × 6'10") with an area of 3.02 m² (32.51 ft²). From the Salami brand, the field features a depiction of the Abbasi Grand Mosque in Isfahan; domes, arches, and architectural symmetry are extended across the entire surface through the all-over layout. In the border, the image of the Sultaniyeh Dome in Zanjan and the Mausoleum of Baba Rokn al-Din in Isfahan—both from the Ilkhanid period—are woven as integral elements. The weaving density is approximately 5,100 knots/dm², standing at the threshold of fine weaving and offering a rare balance between pictorial detail and structural cohesion. A multicolored field, composed of harmonious and radiant tones, together with a bold madder-red border, imparts a warm and lively spirit to the rug—colors that are not only beautiful but meaningful and deeply rooted.
