This magnificent handwoven Tabriz rug, in a medallion design with an extraordinary pictorial composition, produced by the “Talischizadeh” brand, measures 297 × 402 cm (9'9" × 13'2") with an area of 11.94 m² (128.55 ft²), enhancing its royal grandeur and elegance. At the golden heart of this rug, a majestic medallion features the image of Darius the Great of the Achaemenid dynasty—a symbol of power, culture, and millennia-old Iranian civilization—depicted with reverence and beauty at the rug’s center. Within the central frame surrounding Darius, the twelve zodiac signs are illustrated, accompanied by verses referring to them. Beyond the central frame, portraits of Iranian kings such as Nader Shah Afshar, Shah Abbas Safavid, and others appear. Surrounding the medallion, angelic figures move with poetic and spiritual delicacy, as if celestial guardians watching over the ancient history of Iran. The golden field radiates brilliance and luxury, contrasted delicately by a cream border that frames the composition with elegance. The masterful weave, crafted with fine wool pile and a strong cotton warp, together with a weaving density of approximately 5,100 knots/dm², reflects the high artistic precision of Tabriz weavers. This rug is not merely a decorative piece, but a visual treasury of Iranian history, mythology, and artistry—a masterpiece for collectors and art enthusiasts who seek authenticity with profound meaning.
