This handwoven Sirjan kilim rug, measuring 170 × 210 cm (5'7" × 6'11") with an area of 3.57 m² (38.43 ft²), is woven in a khesti (panel) design. It is all-wool, with a weaving density of approximately 1,800 knots/dm². The khesti layout—one of the widely used patterns in carpet art—divides the surface into geometric panels, each presenting an independent vignette of traditional geometric motifs. The use of these forms within the panels reflects the design’s deep roots in traditional architecture and manuscript painting. A madder-red field lends vibrant warmth, while the cream border adorned with floral motifs balances the composition with a gentle calm. This kilim rug reflects the local identity and cultural authenticity of the Sirjan region.
