Why Choose Azimzadeh for Persian Carpets in Dubai and the UAE
If you are searching for the best Persian carpet shop in Dubai, you will find plenty of shops that call themselves exactly that. A better approach is to decide what "best" should mean for a carpet you may keep for decades, and then check each shop against it. This article sets out the criteria we think matter, and how Azimzadeh measures up to each of them.
In short: Azimzadeh has been in the Persian carpet trade since 1969 and has served customers from its Dubai showroom in Al Barsha 2 since 2021. We specialise in handmade Iranian carpets from weaving centres across Iran, with a branch in Tehran, an unusual depth of large sizes, and a certificate of authenticity with every handmade carpet. You can see carpets in the showroom, try them at home, and have them delivered free anywhere in the UAE on orders over AED 150.
What to look for in a Persian carpet shop
- Specialist knowledge of weaving centres, materials and construction, not just a large showroom.
- Accurate descriptions: warp and pile named separately, knot density in a stated unit, measured dimensions.
- Documentation you can match to the individual carpet.
- Choice in the sizes, designs and materials you actually need.
- A way to see the carpet in your own room before committing.
- Clear policies on delivery, returns and payment, from a registered company you can contact.
- After-sales care: cleaning, repair and advice for the life of the carpet.
Here is how we approach each one.
1. More than five decades in Persian carpets
Azimzadeh has worked with Persian carpets since 1969. Our name is also one of the recognised Tabriz design and trade names: on a carpet, "Azimzadeh" can describe a piece commissioned or produced by Mr Ahad Azimzadeh, or one woven from a design he supplied. Our guide to weaving centres and maker names explains what that means and why we only name a designer when that role is confirmed.
In Dubai, we trade as Azimzadeh Carpet Trading LLC, with our showroom in Al Barsha 2 since 2021.
2. A direct connection to Iran's weaving centres
Handmade Iranian carpets are our core speciality. The collection is predominantly classical and includes work from Tabriz, Qom, Isfahan, Nain, Kerman, Mashhad, and kilims and gabbehs from the Shiraz and Fars region.
Because we also have a branch in Tehran, a carpet that is not in the Dubai showroom is not necessarily out of reach. If nothing in Dubai suits you, we can check availability in Tehran and come back to you with the actual details and photographs of what we find.
Some of the names you will find in our collection:
- Qom: natural full-silk carpets from workshops including Kashizadeh, Kafashzadeh, Saeed and Mir Mehdi. We purchase the completed production of the Kashizadeh workshops exclusively.
- Tabriz: design and trade names including Salari, Gharebaghi, Khatibi, Olya, Shirfar and Haji Jalili.
- Isfahan and Mashhad: works by Seirafian and Golparvar in Isfahan, and Amu Oghli in Mashhad.
3. Unusual and very large sizes
A particular strength of our collection is the depth of unusual sizes and carpets larger than 24 m², the sizes needed for palaces, majlis rooms, villas and hotel spaces. Among the largest works in our collection is a pair of carpets measuring 20 × 30 m each, 600 m² per carpet, with a design by Master Khiabani.
We also commissioned a pair of 6 × 12 m Tabriz carpets as a contemporary recreation of the famous Ardabil carpet. Browse our handmade carpets larger than 24 m², or see our rug size guide.
4. Descriptions you can rely on
We would rather tell you "I will check the record" than give you an improvised answer. That principle shapes how we describe every carpet:
- Warp and pile are named separately. "Wool and silk" is not enough; a silk warp does not make a silk pile. See our guide to kork, silk and viscose.
- Knot density is given in a stated unit, knots per dm², and never confused with raj.
- Weights are measured on industrial scales, not estimated from area.
- Place of weaving and design name are kept apart, because a design associated with one city can be woven in another.
- No investment promises. We do not promise that a carpet will rise in value. A sales description is not a formal valuation.
5. A certificate with every handmade carpet
Every handmade carpet we sell comes with an Azimzadeh Certificate of Authenticity, with no issuance fee. It records the carpet's photograph and specifications and carries a GS1 product identifier (GTIN). The cover contains an NFC chip: tap it with a compatible phone and it opens the carpet's product information page. Read how to verify a carpet certificate.
6. See it in your room before you decide
A carpet that looks right in a showroom can look very different next to your own furniture and light. With our Free Home Trial, you can choose up to four carpets to see in your space, across the UAE, with no obligation to buy. Interior design consultations are also available, and we work with interior designers on projects.
7. Clear policies and flexible payment
- Free delivery anywhere in the UAE on orders over AED 150. International delivery can be arranged on request.
- Returns can be requested within seven days of delivery, subject to the conditions in our return and refund policy.
- Payment by Visa, Mastercard or American Express, cash on delivery, or instalments with Tabby and Tamara in the UAE.
- Prices are shown in UAE dirhams (AED) and include VAT where applicable.
8. Care for the life of the carpet
A handmade carpet can last for generations with the right care. We offer professional cleaning, repair and restoration, and if the right carpet does not exist yet, we can have one custom-made to your size and design.
